Yes it is ajwain leaves.It has a good smell like camphor.So it is called Karpooravalli or omavalli .Omum is ajwain.

Can it be grinded as smooth paste also or will the smell be so strong if grinded nice? Idli/dosa ku side dish ah use pannalama? Thooduvalai dosa recipe sekkirama upload pannavum.
Kindly follow the recipe as i said.It will not be very strong.If necessary you can soak the leaves in water for 10 minutes, which helps in reducing of the strong odour of the leaves
